Now Available – Ruger LC Carbine 5.7x28mm Semi-Auto

The 5.7x28mm round has gained quite a bit of popularity within the market over the last few years as more and more manufacturer’s are bringing handguns out chambered in this caliber. What we’re not seeing is rifles chambered in this round and the only one we’ve really seen is the fN PS90 which has a pretty high price point. Enter Ruger and the LC Carbine.

The LC Carbine was introduced last year and is the natural progression of the Ruger 57 pistol. Back in the day, it was very popular to have a rifle that fired the same caliber as your pistol. There are a number of reasons this made sense but chief among them is that typically, a round fired through a longer barrel would garner a significant boost in velocity. And we think it’s easier to hit a target with a rifle than it is with a handgun, particularly at a distance.

Now the 5.7x28mm round is a round designed to reach out and touch someone, even fired out if a pistol. But if you want to reach out to further distances, then a rifle is required. Ruger has addressed this with the LC Carbine and one of the major attractions to it is if you have the Ruger 57 pistol, all you have to do is pop the mag out of the pistol, insert it into the LC Carbine, chamber a round and your ready to shoot at those longer distance targets. Yes, they share the same magazine.

Additionally, with the folding stock and collapsible sights, the LC Carbine is ideal for the range, the backpack or anywhere a versatile and reliable carbine is appreciated. It weighs in at under 6 lbs and features a 16.25″ fluted, threaded barrel. The version we have is finished in a Davidson’s Dark Earth color and we have one available today. Price is $795.
